What is new for surveillance
ELAN OS 9 adds timelapse playback, which turns hours of footage into an event-based summary, plus full-duplex audio and one-way video between cameras and viewer endpoints. The NVR interface is faster, and smart announcements can trigger off motion instead of waiting for someone to check a feed.
Entry control
Smart access, not just a keypad
New door stations and smart access let us assign entry fobs and cards per user, each with its own access schedule, and the platform carries the Nice Voice Assistant. Some features here — smart announcements and doorbell-press messaging — need a Nice Voice licence, and we will tell you plainly if a job needs one rather than assume it is included.
Why it is worth planning for early
ELAN OS 9 is what ties cameras, the security panel, audio and shades together under one app. It is far cheaper for us to plan a system around it from the start than to retrofit it onto a house that was wired piecemeal.
